| My theme for this summer: "well, that figures..."
Nothing should surprise me anymore...nothing. I don't know what's going on with me and my life right now. Quite honestly, I'm in disbelief...completely in shock. Sometimes I wish I could go back to a time when the hardest decision was whether to play at the pool or at the park.
I'm lookin for the silver lining...
I wanna love I want a fire To feel the burn My desires I wanna man by my side Not a boy who runs and hides Are you gonna fight for me? Die for me? Live and breathe for me? Do you care for me? 'Cause if you don't then just leave

| Hey Y'all! I hope summer is wonderful for everyone so far!
Well, a quick update on my life...I've been back in Findlay for a little over a month now, and my has it been interesting. Pretty much anyone who knows me already knows that I dreaded coming back here with everything in me. I didn't want to leave Lexington (or Kentucky for that matter), and I definitely didn't want to spend my summer in a place I so strongly dislike. It dawned on me earlier today, as I was looking back at everything that's happened since the beginning of May, that this is a major growing season for me.
I'm not going into details, but sooo much has happened. One huge thing I've learned (well, to be honest I'm learning it more and more each day...) is that you can plan life all you want, but that doesn't necessarily mean that everything will happen according to your plan. Nothing I've planned so far has happened the way I wanted it to (the way I thought it was "supposed" to)...it's almost like my world is crashing all around me and I'm standing in the middle looking around going "oh my gosh what am I going to do now." My faith is being tested, that's obvious to me. So, I'm trusting the Lord will take care of me...He's never let me down before, and I know He won't now (He's carried me through every single day of my life...but it's been completely real to me these past few weeks). When we are weak, He is strong. And friends, I'm totally weak...I can't do this on my own. So, while it's tough going through the fire, I know I will come out a stronger person (and stronger in the Lord, too).
One amazing thing has happened since I've been back in town though, and I am so thankful for this blessing. Even though I've eaten (well, I'm still eating) every word I've said when it comes to this matter, I am so happy and so excited to see what is to come! Maybe this is one of the main reasons I had to come back to Findlay for the summer...only time will tell. Findlay at least has one redeeming quality...
I'll try and be better at updating. I haven't really had much of a chance to sit down since I've been in town, let alone get on here. But, it looks like I'll have quite a bit of free time now, at least until I can figure out what my next move is going to be. Patience is the name of the game.
| So this is it...finals are over...and I sit here amazed at how fast the time went by. As happy as I am to be finished with school for the summer (well, for a month anyways - gotta love summer classes), I am really really sad! I'm not ready to leave Lexington yet...I don't wanna goooo!!!!! I absolutely love it down here...I'm home. And I have made some truly incredible friends ~ I feel like we've known each other our entire lives! At least we have a ton of fun road trips planned, so I'll get to see them some this summer. A bunch of us are living in the same apartment complex next year, so that is gonna totally rock!!! Having your best friends as neighbors is such an awesome thing! God has blessed me beyond my imagination...it's the coolest feeling in the world, knowing that I'm right where I'm supposed to be!!!
I'll be back in the not-so-great state of Ohio this summer, attempting to patiently wait for August 12th to roll around. I'm taking macroeconomics, working at Gina Lynne Floral & Design and also Flag City Fitness, singing/bridesmaid in a ton of weddings (including miss Jenny Lee's ~ congrats girlie!!!), and road trippin it biiig time this summer. If y'all are around, holla at me ~ I'd love to see ya!
I hope exams are going well for y'all! Good luck and enjoy the rest of your time at school!

| So I'm watching the Miss USA pageant the other night. When I turned it on they were selecting the final 10 girls...so I hadn't heard any of their names yet. They call Miss Kentucky, and as she's walking across the floor, I was like oh my gosh I know her! She looked sooo familiar, but I just couldn't place her. So, I call my mom and tell her about it, and I made a comment that she looked a lot like an old friend (but Mom didn't think so). I knew it wasn't my old friend, I just knew she reminded me of her. A few minutes later, Mom calls and asks if I've figured it out yet. Turns out Miss Kentucky was my UK tour guide when I came down here the summer before my senior year!!! Mom remembered me saying that she looked like our old neighbor during the tour (and we actually went to that old friend/neighbor's wedding the day after my UK tour). So that was pretty sweet that I had met Miss Kentucky!!! (which, by the way, is soooo sweet and gorgeous...and she got 2nd runner up so congrats to her!)
Then, yesterday in my Logic class, another fun thing happened. Now, my prof is a little goofy, and he likes to turn all the lights out and just keep a stage light on. So, it's dark in Memorial Hall, and I'm already really sleepy...so you do the math. As I'm fighting the sleep, all of a sudden a bunch of the SigEps open the door, followed by a bunch of cameras and this woman who is walking right up on stage. She introduces herself to my prof and he is stunned, and then asks for a hug (haha yeah, you'd have to know the guy). Suddenly it hit me ~ it was ASHLEY JUDD!!! So, as Ashley graces the stage and begins to speak to us, a bunch of people whip their cells out to take pics and call people to tell them who is chillin with us - that was pretty funny! We see Ashley a lot at games, but I've never seen her walk into a class before...and she was followed by MTV. The SigEps were holding the championship 3-on-3 basketball tournament last night, and the benefits were going to YouthAIDS - an organization that Ashley is very active in. So, she surprised them at lunch yesterday, and then surprised us! MTV was taping it all, too. Ashley also wrote "I love Patrick Sparks" with a big heart next to it on the overhead...that was pretty sweet! Boy that was fun to see my hometown girl again!!!
Anyways, just thought I'd share two fun things with y'all. Have a fantastic week!
